Just a tip, if you plan the use a Game Genie (US version) to max out link, make sure you save and quit and stop usuing the cheat before you get the the max level, otherwise youll get stuck on the level up screen indefinitely, which would force you to reset the console

There was a time I was not high on the X series, I remember renting the 3 SNES games, never able to do anything in them at all, did fine in the original series. I now have the Mega Man X Collection on the PS2, but I also have the SNES trilogy, well the first game on SNES, the other 2 the Super Famicom versions as they are cheaper. I will likely have to buy X1 again as the copy I have is from a friend's sister, and since she didn't take care of her games, the game bears no label at all, I literally had to sharpie on the front of a bare cart so I could remember what game it is. If I do buy the game again, it'll be the Japanese version, so that it'll match it's 2 younger SFC siblings. That friend's sister gave me the SNES games she had for free, not one of them doesn't have some sort of label damage, and I can tell from the copy of Battletoads Double Dragon that either a cat, or dog peed on the thing well over a decade or so ago, the cart label is gross. Of course the game works, and I actually gave it a small cleaning when I got it in case of any kind of smell that might come from it. But back to my original point, it took a couple decades, but eventually I warmed up to the Mega Man X series, the first 3 are incredibly beautiful games for the SNES.

I found a copy of this game locally years back just in time, after I bought it for under $20 cart only, started seeing it on Ebay for around $100. First time I passed on it, when I went back to get it, the guy (the game shop owner) said the game disappeared, no one had bought it though, wasn't sure where it was. Come to find out, his roommate borrowed the game from the shop to play it, so I told the guy to get it back and I would buy it my next trip the next week. That next week, when he told me about the roommate, and had the game back at the shop, I sure as hell bought it right then and there.

It just baffles me WHY did the sleeping Zelda had to be a different one, couldn't they just say the Zelda (1) princess had been cursed while being kidnapped by Ganon and it took effect in between the two games or something? Why make it overly complicated?

These gaming mags told us what was coming out, we didn't have internet back then to find out what new releases were coming, regardless of the console or handheld. I had issues 30 to over 100, a flood in 2012 that dropped 2 feet of rain in just 6 hours destroyed most of the NP's I had, as well as my old EGM's and Gamepro mags (they were in a storage shed outside, on ground level (-_-) ). I have maybe 3 or 4 issues left, as well as a few Gamepro and EGM's, all my Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 guides, but lost my Super Mario 3 guide, my Mario World guide, my Super Metroid guide, my NES Guide, the black book, I managed to salvage as I kept it in my house, along with my Top Secret Passwords Guide Nintendo gave as subscription bonuses. These days, I have the issues I had, and cherished most, on an external hard drive in pdf format, it's not the same as having them physically, but it's nice to have them around to read. I also keep EGM's in pdf format these days. I should not have listened to my mom, and just kept the magazines in my house, in the closet, where they sat in a chest type box.

My first system was an Atari 2600, then it died, two of them in fact. Later on, I saved aluminum cans to recycle, only saved about 80 bucks or so, and it was 1988, wanted an NES so bad after playing it at friend's houses, my dad would help me the rest of the way to get that NES. Today, I still have that NES, in recent years I added a top loader, and a friend got me one of those Honeybee converters to play Famicom games on the console (the thing is harder to pull out of a top loader than a toaster model when you were done playing a game), my NES/FC count as a collector, 353 games (in total 1,355 between various consoles of the 16 bit, 32 bit, and PS2, PS3, DS, PSP, and Wii consoles). NES/FC: 353 games Game Boy/GBC/GBA: 156 games SNES/SFC: 209 games Genesis/MD: 187 games PS1: 148 games The rest of the consoles have less games for them (Saturn, DS, PSP, Atari 2600 and the 2 games with no console I have, 1 N64 game, an odd Game Gear game a friend gave me with no Game Gear, PS2, Wii, PS3, 1 Game Cube game an ex girlfriend got me, no Game Cube). But the NES was the most hyped I ever got for a console, only closely matched by the SNES, and the Game Boy. A couple years of seeing ads for the NES on TV, torture when you didn't have one, having dreams sometimes of actually having one till it became a reality.

I was born far, far after the NES. Being 21 this year, i never had something as old as the NES as a kid. However my first console was the Nintendo 64, setting in stone my love for nintendo games. When i turned around 10 years old i started to look back on video games to see the whole history. And the SNES/NES always caught my eye. There's something special about those games. It's like some magnetic magic that pulls you in. The charm and quality of modern nintendo games can be traced all the way back to the beginning. Even though i'll never truly know what it was like to grow up with the NES i'm happy to play them in the now times and enjoy them none-the-less. Thanks for the video.

I was born in a third-world country, and back in the day, kids around here had access to almost the same things as the U.S kids could have, albeit with a few years' delay. The first time I saw a NES was around 1988, and the Atari 2600 was still a thing. My brother and I were hanging around with some friends when we noticed a small crowd of kids gathering around someone's window. We joined them to find out what was happening, only to discover a random boy playing Super Mario Bros on his brand-new console. It felt like a group of people from the Stone Age meeting someone wielding bronze tools and axes. When I returned home that day, my 2600 seemed like utter crap in comparison 🤔
